Our dedicated team of psychologists provide a comprehensive range of specialised services for children, adolescents, adults and the community. Our team is motivated by working in partnership with our clients to empower them to build psychological flexibility and wellbeing. We are inspired from our daily interactions with clients to build a client-centred practice that is meaningful and fulfilling for them and our team.
Founder & Clinic Director
Dr Sacha Rombouts
Sacha (he/him) is a Clinical Psychologist and has extensive clinical experience working with families, youth, and adults across a variety of settings. Sacha is on the APS Autism Identified Practitioner List and he is a trained facilitator of the Secret Agent Society (SAS) program for children with social skills difficulties. Sacha is also dedicated to working with couples to help them achieve long-lasting, fulfilling relationships. He has been trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT). Sacha has a passion for working with children and believes in supporting positive changes to all layers of a child’s life, including family and school. This means that his role extends to giving talks to school staff and parents. He loves having fun and tries to make his time with all clients as enjoyable as possible. As the Founder of Happy Minds Australia, Sacha believes in adopting a personal approach and has a lifelong dedication to the ongoing development of the skills he teaches to clients. He draws upon evidence based frameworks such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Sacha works on Wednesdays - Saturdays.
Clinic Director
Reyelle McKeever
Reyelle McKeever (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist who works with children, young people and adults. She has a particular interest in supporting people within the LGBTIQA+ community. Reyelle recognises that life is often like a roller coaster, with ups and downs - and works with clients to help them navigate that journey more smoothly. She is passionate about working collaboratively with people as a team and that each client is the 'expert' of their own lives. She believes in supporting positive changes to all layers of a person’s life, including family, school, work and intimate relationships. Her focus is on making sessions interesting and as enjoyable as possible, endeavouring to assist clients to build resilience in the face of life’s challenges. She is committed to providing effective, evidence-based services that are personalised to meet her clients’ needs and goals. With authenticity and genuineness, she focuses on building meaningful therapeutic relationships that view every individual as more than their present issue or concern. Reyelle uses a strengths-based model that sees the whole person and values the importance of feeling understood and really heard. She aims to create a non-judgmental, welcoming environment that is friendly, safe and fun. Reyelle works Mondays - Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Yan Lam Ng
Yan (she/her) is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist with experience working in schools and private practices since 2018. She has a calm and warm nature, and is passionate in supporting young people and their family through their life journey. Yan is experienced in working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families from neurodiverse and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. She also works with people with trauma experiences. Being an immigrant herself, Yan understands the challenges of being ‘different’. She believes that our greatest weakness can sometimes be our biggest strength, and would like to support people to discover their inner power. Yan works in a collaborative and eclectic approach. She believes that every person can be their own expert and there is no ‘one-size-fit-all’ therapy. In sessions, she draws on evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help people maximizing their well-being. She also values honest feedback and is willing to adjust when an approach is not working. Yan offer supports using a variety of approaches, such as 1,2,3 Magic Parenting Program, Circle of Security; Play-based Therapy; CBT; ACT; and EMDR. When appropriate, Yan also provides cognitive, psychological and psycho-educational assessments. In addition to English, Yan speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin (歡迎使用廣東話及國語溝通) Yan is available for therapy session on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays (fortnightly).

Selina Dunn
Selina (she/her) is a warm, friendly, and experienced psychologist and mother of two who has worked extensively in the private and public health system since gaining full registration in 2001. She is an endorsed Educational and Developmental Psychologist and has experience in working with clients and families in community and inpatient child and youth mental health services (CYMHS), child development services, primary school settings, disability services, and more recently in clinical research trials with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and rare genetic syndromes. Selina enjoys working with children, adolescents and families by helping them learn and practise the skills needed to maximise their mental health, well-being, and quality of life. She draws on evidence-based therapeutic techniques from an eclectic base of approaches which includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, attachment and family systems theories, creative therapies, social skills training, interpersonal/functional neurobiology, and trauma-informed approaches. Where appropriate, Selina also provides psychological and psycho-educational assessments and reports for children and adolescents in order to contribute to a developmental understanding of clients’ strengths, areas of difficulty and support needs. Selina is available for therapy sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Penny Travis
Penny (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist who has a passion for working with children with autism. She has experience working with children, teens and adults in private practice settings. Penny recognises the importance of being heard and understood and highly values the development of a meaningful therapeutic relationship. She works collaboratively with clients to help them find their own solutions to life’s challenges. She aims to create a non-judgmental, safe environment for her clients. Using a strengths-based approach, Penny draws from a range of evidence-based therapies including play therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and person-centered therapy. Depending on the needs of the client, Penny works with individuals to develop self-confidence, social skills, problem solving skills and emotion regulation skills. Penny provides therapy sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Natalie Morgan
Natalie (she/her) is a warm and compassionate Educational and Developmental Psychologist. She has experience working across multiple settings including schools (primary and secondary), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community health services, children's hospital, the not-for-profit sector and a correctional centre. Whilst Natalie is passionate about working with and supporting people across the lifespan, she has a particular interest in supporting adolescents and young adults. Her areas of interest include anxiety, low mood, building self-esteem and confidence, identity exploration, skill building for healthy relationships, workplace stress and burnout, adjustment challenges and supporting life transitions. Natalie places value on developing a strong therapeutic relationship with clients where they feel safe and comfortable to share their personal story. Natalie utilises a range of evidence-based strategies including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Where appropriate, Natalie provides cognitive and psycho-educational assessments and reports. Natalie is available for sessions on Mondays.

Sarah Martin
Sarah (she/her) is a passionate psychologist with experience working with young people, parents, and adults. Her nature is warm and genuine, and she values creating a supportive and safe space. Sarah takes a personalised and strengths-based approach to help individuals and families align with their values and goals. She draws from a wide range of evidence-based techniques and therapeutic styles including; ACT, CBT, DBT, compassion focused therapy, attachment and family systems frameworks, and play-based therapy. Sarah will often collaborate with an individual’s wider system (e.g., parents, school, allied health team), where appropriate. Sarah aims to make therapy fun, welcoming, and creative, while focusing on building a strong therapeutic connection at the core of her practice. Sarah has a deep respect for individuals at every step of their journey and considers it a privilege to foster a therapy space that embraces courage and vulnerability. Where appropriate, Sarah also provides cognitive, psychological, and psycho-educational assessments. Sarah is available for therapy sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Claire Ting
Claire (she/her) is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who has been in private practice since 2009. She is also a lecturer and supervisor to postgraduate psychology students, and has previously worked as a primary school teacher. Claire is completing a PhD to explore whether working on self-advocacy with students with dyslexia can increase their access to the educational adjustments to which they are lawfully entitled. Claire collaborates with her clients to ensure that she has an accurate understanding of the unique person that she is assessing, including all their strengths, interests, and challenges they face in the learning environment. This allows her to write reports that are clear, thorough, and full of practical recommendations for how to best support the individual in nurturing their strengths and meeting their learning requirements. Claire also has experience working with people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, including working with interpreters. She can use Auslan to a basic conversational level. Claire offers psychoeducational assessments at Happy Minds which are scheduled on an individual basis.
Creative Art Therapist
Mikarla Teague
Mikarla (she/her or they/them) is a dynamic and experienced Creative Arts Therapist and artist with years of experience working extensively with young people of diverse communities and backgrounds. Mikarla was the recipient of the 2019 Queensland Mental Health Achievement Awards - LGBTI AWARD for her Pride Art Therapy Program they created and facilitated to over 5000 young people throughout schools and organisations all around South East QLD. They are a registered Arts Therapist with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA). Mikarla’s therapeutic approach is holistic, person-centred, trauma-informed and attachment-based; drawing upon evidence-based frameworks such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Their professional experience embodies all areas of the Creative Arts Therapies which includes but is not limited to Art Therapy, Dramatherapy, Music Therapy, Clay Play, Sand Play, and Expressive Movement Therapy. Mikarla has a passion for working with young people and provides a safe, fun, warm and supportive space to express feelings and explore experiences to help young people on their journey of becoming the best possible version of themselves. Art Therapy is eligible under the NDIS for plan-managed and self-managed clients. Mikarla is currently available for one on one sessions on Thursdays.

Our Happy Minds Team would not be complete without the assistance of our Reception staff. We aim to provide our clients with a welcoming environment with helpful support. As such, our receptionists bring compassion and administrative experience to the role of assisting our clients.
The reception team are more than happy to assist you with any questions or issues you may have. Our reception is available Monday to Saturday 9am - 5pm.
